Science education has a real problem. It doesn't involve much real science and fails to make connections to all of the wild places on our planet where science happens. Instead of learning about science, kids should be learning how to do science. We want real research based science education in the classroom, where kids (and teachers!) are excited about science, and have fun while they work. Can you picture a science classroom like this?

698 lizards now have new homes.
The lizard release was a success. We took the boat out at 7:30 this morning filled with 698 lizards. We dropped them of at our six experimental islands in the Matanzas River. Now for our 4 islands back at Tomoka State Park.
Looks like you having fun there Mr.Reedy. Congrats on the release of the lizards. Hope some good stuff come up. Good Luck. Miss You. Don't Forget To Post & Write. :))

how will this lucrative information gathered help the science community? are there any factors you will improve the next occasion you perform an experiment ? what is Dr Warners hypothesis about the effect of enviormental factors affecting your experiment ?
Hey Mr. Reedy! :) You look like you are having lots of fun while working!... Did any lizards died while they were in the bag? How long where the lizards in the bag?.. ~ Kori
Mr. Reedy, it's my birthday today!!!!!I wish I could celebrate my bday in Florida! Anyway, I hope your experiment went well1 I have been working hard on the lizard behavior videos and I will continue during spring break.
How manny lizrad are u going to find have you gotten to the number of lizrads u wanned.. Are you willing to catch more lizrad or thats how mnnya ur going to get for this week.
Let me answer the last five questions that have been asked.
Emmanuel- The most painful trip so far was when I wen to catch a lizard and a spine from a catfish skeleton stuck me in the back of the leg. The whole fish skeleton was stuck to me and I had to pull it out. Ouch!
Guillermo- We could probably have fit all 840 lizards in the boat at one time, but we did the deliveries in 3 separate trips. 2 trips on the Matanzas River as we had lizards marked and ready to go because we wanted to minimize the time they spent in the bags. The third trip was to the islands in Tomoka State Park. Then we did make a 4th trip because one of the lizards crawled back into its bag when we tried to let it out, but we didn't realize it until we were already back on the mainland.
Cherish- We only had 4 lizards die in the process of marking and releasing them.
Adolfo- It took about one full day (9 hours or so) to do all of the releases.
Elizabeth- We saw lots of birds(egrets and pelicans especially) and lots of dolphins!
Have fun i want go there
